A Tulsa police officer was hospitalized Wednesday night after being cut in the face during an arrest near 41st Street and Garnett Road, according to the Tulsa Police Department.

Officers responded around 7 p.m. to a report of a man exposing himself behind a liquor store. Police say the suspect, identified as Scorpio Flynn, fled the area but was later located nearby.

As officers attempted to take Flynn into custody, police say he pulled out a knife and struck one of them in the face, causing multiple severe cuts to the officer’s head and face.

The officer was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. Flynn was arrested at the scene.
