There was a big time celebration for Thunder star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in his hometown on Thursday.

"Shai Rally Day" was held in Hamilton, Ontario to recognize the NBA champion, NBA Finals MVP, regular season MVP, and NBA scoring champion.

SGA now has a street named after him, and he also received a key to the city that means so much to him. After the presentations, Gilgeous-Alexander addressed the massive crowd saying, "Growing up as I travelled across the world, people always asked me where I was from ... I took pride in letting everyone know I was from Hamilton."

SGA added, "I liked telling them what Steel City meant to me. Hamiltonians carry a different sense of grit, determination and pride and energy than the rest of the province. And honestly, I couldn't shy away from that. I carry that with me every day."

To put SGA's historic season in perspective, only three others players in NBA history did what he did winning all of those accolades. The names: Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Shaquille O'Neal.
