Caitlin Clark, one of the most-watched athletes in American sports, has been noticeably absent from recent WNBA games due to injuries. Clark has played in just 13 games this season and is currently sidelined with a groin injury.
ESPN reports she is expected to return around Aug. 12. Despite her limited time on the court, her popularity remains high.
Clark’s absence from the WNBA All-Star Game and the 2024 Paris Olympics raised questions from fans, but the decision may ultimately benefit her recovery.
Amy Siegfried, host of Last Night's Game podcast, says Clark was coming off a demanding college season, the Olympic schedule would have added additional stress to her body ahead of her WNBA debut.
With Clark’s return projected for mid-August, fans may soon see her back on the court just as the football season and tennis heat up. Whether courtside or on the sidelines, Clark’s presence remains one of the most talked-about stories in sports.
