Tulsa National opened its run in the Little League Softball World Series with a 2-1 win over Florida on Monday afternoon in Greenville, North Carolina.
Florida got on the board in the 1st inning with a sacrifice fly. Tulsa ended the scoring threat thanks to a great defensive play at home and an inning-ending strikeout.
Tulsa would finally answer in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Rylee Whited's RBI single down the right field line brought home Tatum Frisby to tie the game at 1-1.
Tulsa would take the lead in the bottom of the 4th. Milana Flamminio-Littlejohn got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, that brought home Palmer Miner for the go-ahead run. After a quick review, the play would stand and that run would prove to be the difference.
Harmoneigh White started the game in the circle for Tulsa, and she would pitch the complete game to earn the victory. White gave up just 5 hits and 1 run over 6 innings, striking out 5 and walking 1. Tulsa National also did not commit an error in the game.
Tulsa National advances in the winner's bracket and will be off until Thursday. Tulsa will play either Pennsylvania or California at noon on August 7th. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
