A medical emergency alerts Sand Springs police officers to an attempted jailbreak while it's happening.

Sand Springs police say they were responding to an inmate at their holding area who wasn't breathing.

Two other inmates were moved out of the way, and while tending to him, they noticed a ceiling panel was out of place.

After the emergency was taken care of, they checked surveillance video and found that the three inmates had been trying to remove the ceiling tile and climb out of the holding cell.

All three inmates are now facing additional charges of trying to escape.
