The man accused of opening fire outside a Miami restaurant on Saturday has been identified by the OSBI.
The agency said Michael Cook, 25, fired his gun into an occupied restaurant near North Main Street and 13th Avenue around 9 p.m.
According to OSBI, Miami Police responded to the scene and confronted the suspect in the parking lot, leading to an initial exchange of gunfire. The OSBI said one person suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Authorities said Cook ran away toward 13th Avenue Northwest and B Street Northwest, where the officer-involved shooting occurred. Authorities said Cook was shot multiple times and transported by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital. He's in critical condition as of Monday afternoon.
No officers were injured in the incident. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing.
"This is still an ongoing investigation and Cook is currently being treated for his injuries. Official charges will be determined by the Ottawa County District Attorney’s Office," the OSBI shared online.
