Convicted felon arrested, accused of having stolen gun in his pants during Tulsa foot chase

A convicted felon is arrested after he was accused of leading police on a foot chase with a stolen gun in his pants.

Tulsa Police arrest a previously convicted felon accused leading police on a foot chase with a stolen gun in his pants, according to the department's Facebook post.

Officers said they responded to a disturbance call with a weapon around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at a home near 56th Street North and Peoria Avenue. Police said they learned this was a domestic situation.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect, later identified as Richard Jefferson, standing in the middle of the road. That's when police said Jefferson took off running and a short foot chase pursued.

Officers caught the suspect and said they found a gun in his pants, which was later revealed to be stolen.

The victim told police the suspect forced his way into the home and stole her phone before assaulting her.

Jefferson was arrested and booked on a list of complaints:

  1. Obstructing Justice
  2. Possession of Stolen Property AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony)
  3. Attempted Robbery, 1st Degree
  4. Possession of a Firearm AFCF
  5. 1st Degree Burglary AFCF
