As Oklahoma braces for another sweltering summer, the Salvation Army and Westlake Ace Hardware are working together to provide vital heat relief to vulnerable residents.
Through a seasonal campaign that runs from May 19 through June 7, customers can donate toward box fans at participating stores. The results have already been life-changing.
$3,100: Total raised in Tulsa last year
Customers in the Tulsa area donated more than $3,100 during the 2023 fan drive, which helped the local Salvation Army distribute 187 box fans to households without access to air conditioning or proper ventilation.
65,000: Total fans distributed nationwide
Since the initiative began, more than 65,000 fans have been given to people in need across the U.S., thanks to the support of generous shoppers and Westlake Ace employees.
$963,000: Total funds raised across all stores
The fan drive has collectively raised $963,000 nationwide. The effort now spans 157 Westlake Ace-owned stores, making it a widespread movement with hyperlocal impact.
May 19–June 7: This year’s campaign window
Customers can round up purchases to the nearest dollar or donate online during the campaign period. Every cent collected goes toward buying new fans.
100%: Funds staying in the community
Organizers emphasize that all donations made locally stay in the community, ensuring that assistance reaches neighbors who need it most.
Shoppers can round up their total at any participating Westlake Ace Hardware location. To find a store near you, visit: westlakehardware.com/store-locator
