News On 6's Jonathan Polasek reports from the scene:
Some parts of Fort Gibson looked like they hadn't been touched, but other parts weren’t as lucky.
Several homes and properties were damaged by strong winds. Trees were uprooted and fell onto houses, while power poles snapped, knocking out electricity to parts of the town.
“I saw several huge trees uprooted and landing on houses,” Polasek reported. “Power lines and poles were snapped, leaving many without power today.”
One of the more personal losses came at Jeff Perry’s family farm, where a historic barn was heavily damaged.

“A lot of things pertaining to the family's history has occurred since 1978 in this barn,” said Jeff Perry.
“In fact, I got married inside this shop in 2016, so it's kind of heartfelt that now it's gone.”
Despite the emotional loss, Perry said he’s thankful no one was injured.
Perry said his family members were helping clean up all morning and afternoon.
The town says Fort Gibson’s brush lot will be closed, but residents are encouraged to cut up tree limbs and stack them at the curb. City crews will work through the week to remove the debris as quickly as possible.
