The Osage Nation Police Department is asking for the public’s help after several thefts from the old Bartlesville Casino property over the first few days of August.
Security officers have continued patrolling the site, but that hasn’t stopped criminals from targeting the location. The most high-profile theft — a massive buffalo statue — happened on Aug. 3 around 7 a.m. while a guard was on the property but in another area.
In addition to the buffalo statue, thieves took a window air conditioning unit along with copper wire and tubing from the property’s industrial AC units.
Officials say the buffalo statue already had cracks on its head from a previous, unrelated accident before it was stolen.
The Osage Nation Police Department is urging anyone with information about the thefts — or anyone who spots the statue — to contact them.
Dispatch is available at 918-287-3131 at any time. The office can also be reached directly during regular business hours at 918-287-5510. Tips may be sent via Facebook Messenger to the Osage Nation Police Department's page.
