Locust Grove assistant golf coach arrested for second-degree rape

An assistant golf coach at Locust Grove High School has been arrested for second-degree rape after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student and sharing explicit images.

A Locust Grove High School assistant golf coach has been arrested for second-degree rape, according to the Mays County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say 64-year-old James Curtis is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student. Investigators say Curtis and the student were together at multiple locations, including inside the high school’s golf room.

The sheriff’s office says Curtis also admitted to sharing explicit images with the student.

Curtis is now in custody as the investigation continues.
