In the Indoor Football League, the Tulsa Oilers now know the feeling of preparing for a playoff game.

Becoming a franchise in 2023, Tulsa struggled the first two years, winning a combined eight games. This year, though, the Oilers have claimed the three-seed in the Eastern Conference with a 10 and 6 record.

For the first time ever, Tulsa will take the field in the postseason on Sunday afternoon at two-seed Green Bay, riding a three-game winning streak. Wide receiver Isiah Scott said, "We just want to win and keep winning, because it's the first time in history. It would be the first time for a playoff win, first time for a championship, so it would be good to keep that thing going."

Quarterback Sam Castronova, who is a perfect 3-0 since taking over as the starter a few weeks ago, added, "We are feeling good heading into the playoffs, but we don't want to get overconfident. We still want to be hungry, and that is how we are trying to be."

The Oilers split the regular season two-game series with Green Bay, but they know it will be a challenge going on the road and coming away with a victory. The Blizzard has the best offense in the league, averaging over 52 points a game. In the May 3rd win over Green Bay, though, Tulsa held them to just 30 points while forcing four turnovers.

Castronova, who was not a part of that win, understands what the offense needs to do in order to help the team come out with a win, saying, "If we score a touchdown every time we have the ball, it is going to be really hard for us to lose a game, so that is our mentality. Hopefully, we can execute at that level."

Castronova added, "The only people that can beat us is us, that is how we feel. We are not cocky, but we are confident, so if we execute at a high level, then we have a good chance at getting the job done."

To pull off the win, head coach Marvin Jones says his team needs to play mistake-free football. Jones said, "They have gotten better, we have gotten better. I just think it is anyone's game. We just have to be at our best and make plays. We have to make every catch and every interception."

Tulsa and the Blizzard kick off on Sunday in Green Bay at 3:05 p.m. Central time.
