1. Defense is ahead of the offense.
Lamb said the defense looked fast and sharp, calling it “a different team” from spring. The offense, meanwhile, struggled with timing and consistency in the pass game.
2. Physical practices are coming.
Tulsa hasn’t put on pads yet, but that changes Friday and Saturday. Lamb expects “bloody practices” with full team periods and run-game emphasis.
3. Strength gains are showing up.
A huge offseason in the weight room: 56 players clean over 300 lbs, and more than 30 squat over 500. Lamb believes Tulsa stacks up well in conditioning across the American.
4. Transfers have made a difference.
Post-spring additions at safety, tight end, and offensive line have boosted competition and depth. Lamb says the players recognize the talent upgrades.
5. The trenches are still unsettled.
Skill spots are mostly set, but starting roles on both the offensive and defensive lines are still wide open. Finding the right mix up front remains a key camp priority.
