A 19-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to helping her boyfriend murder her adopted grandparents and bury them in their backyard.
Heidi Dutton was 17 at the time of the killings. Investigators say she asked Lucas Walker to kill Deborah and Larry Dutton in 2022.
Authorities say Walker shot Deborah and stabbed Larry to death. Doorbell video later showed Walker and Dutton dragging a body across the back deck using a sheet, according to investigators.
Dutton admitted to telling Walker she wanted her grandparents dead. Just a year earlier, she had earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Walker pleaded guilty to the murders and was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison.
Dutton is set to be sentenced in June. Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence.
