A 70-year-old man is dead and a suspect is in custody following a deadly assault in Skiatook on Friday evening, according to the Skiatook Police Department.

Police say they responded to a report of an assault around 6:19 p.m. on May 16 on W. Rogers Blvd. When they arrived, authorities say they found the elderly victim unresponsive. Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities say investigators identified the suspect as 27-year-old Brad Loyd Morgan, the victim's ex-stepson. Police launched an overnight search and successfully located and arrested Morgan just before noon the following day.

Police say Morgan is being booked into the Osage County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.
