Muskogee Police said two suspects are in custody Wednesday in connection with a homicide involving a 21-year-old man in March.

The department identified Terrance Tunley, 20, and Kyren Boulware, 19, as the suspects arrested for charges related to the death of Ashton Wright on March 31, 2025.

Police said Wright was found severely injured in the roadway near East Okmulgee and Frankfort Avenue in the evening of March 31st. He later died at the hospital.

STATEMENT FROM POLICE:

The Investigators have worked over the past seven weeks gathering evidence, following leads, and coordinating with partner agencies to bring those responsible to justice.
We would like to thank the United States Marshals Task Force for their assistance in helping locate and apprehending the suspects.
Both suspects are currently in custody and face charges related to the homicide. The investigation remains active, and no further details will be released at this time to preserve the integrity of the ongoing proceedings.

In April, Wright's sister Markaya Breshears told News On 6 that their family were desperate for answers and that her brother was the father to a three-year-old named Joshua.

"He loved his kid more than anything, his entire world," said Daylon Morris, Ashton's friend.

In May, family and friends of Wright held a vigil in a show of support.

“He was my boy,” said Patty Goodrich, Wright’s grandmother. “He was a good, good boy. He never started trouble with nobody.”

“I hope they just realize it can happen to anybody. I didn’t think I was going to lose my brother at 16, and my nephew obviously was going to lose his dad, and you always think, ‘this can’t happen to us, this won’t happen to us,’ until it does, and when it does, it’s like, ‘boom,”’ said Breshears.
