A Pryor man is in custody after police say he broke into several storage units over the weekend.

According to the Pryor Police Department, surveillance footage captured Melvin Heinze breaking into a storage facility and leaving in a black van. Officers located the vehicle using license plate recognition cameras the following day and conducted a traffic stop.

Authorities say Heinze admitted to the break-ins and had stolen property inside the van at the time of his arrest.

Police are currently working to return the recovered items to the victims.

Heinze is also wanted in Osage County on a separate burglary charge.
