A rescue was completed for a woman in the Arkansas River near the 96th Street bridge in Jenks, on Thursday afternoon.
Jenks Police closed the bridge around 1:30 p.m. after 911 callers reported a woman seen in the water just after 1 p.m.

Police reported that the fire department deployed a raft to attempt to rescue the woman, only identified as a civilian by authorities, but strong currents separated them.
Just before 2 p.m., she was seen being hoisted into the rescue boat, appearing to give the first responder a hug in the process.
So far, it's unclear why she was in the water, but Jenks Police confirmed she'll be OK.
"This rescue is a reminder that the river may appear to be calm, but there are strong underwater currents that can cause someone to become submerged. Please refrain from swimming in the river, and visit a local waterpark or splashpad instead to keep cool," police said.
