6/13/2025 UPDATE: The Grand River Dam Authority said the Jordan McConnell's body has been recovered from the Illinois River.
The GRDA identified McConnell on Thursday as the man who went missing in the water earlier this week.
Authorities said that offivers recovered him from the water Friday morning in an area south of the Chewey Bridge.
His body is being turned over to the Medical Examiner. There are no other details at this time.

6/12/2025 UPDATE: The Grand River Dam Authority has identified a 32-year-old man who jumped into the Illinois River and never resurfaced on Tuesday.
The GRDA said Jordan McConnell, of Westville, was briefly seen visible in the water before going under, according to witnesses.
This happened in an area south of the Chewey Bridge around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the GRDA says.
GRDA Police, the Oaks Fire Department and the Cherokee Marshal Service began searching for McConnell on Tuesday and efforts are still underway on Thursday.
Authorities said the focus is concentrated in an area south of the Chewey Bridge.

Grand River Dam Authority says they're investigating a drowning near Tahlequah in Adair County.
GRDA was searching the Illinois River near the Chewey Bridge around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
They say a man went missing and has not been found.
