The new terminal building at McAlester Regional Airport is taking shape. It's a project that's been two years in the making.
On Monday, Osage Skynews 6 pilot Dustin Stone was overhead to give a bird's eye view of the terminal's progress.
Officials broke ground on the new terminal project at McAlester Regional Airport back in September of 2023.
The $2.7 million project doubles the size of the old terminal, which was built back in the 1950s.
The new building will also have classroom space for McAlester High School students to learn how to build and fly planes.
The city says about 8,000 aircraft come through the airport every year, with about 30 based in McAlester.
Much of the new building is complete, but the city has not said when the new terminal will have its official grand opening.
