Vagabond Art Gallery, located along Route 66 in Tulsa, is reshaping the city’s creative scene with a bold, pop culture-driven approach to art. Described as a “punk meet pixel” space, the gallery embraces both underground and digital aesthetics, offering a nontraditional venue for artists who might not find a home in more conventional settings.

Owner Jeff Brame says the gallery is more than just a place to display artwork—it also functions as a video production studio and a platform for immersive community events. Vagabond positions itself as a launchpad for Tulsa’s next generation of visual rebels.

Call For Artists: ‘Level Up’ Show Submissions Open

Vagabond is currently accepting artist submissions for its upcoming group show, Level Up, which takes inspiration from video game culture. The exhibition invites both emerging and established artists to explore themes rooted in nostalgia, arcades, consoles and the larger world of gaming.

The submission deadline is August 9. Selected artists must drop off their framed work by August 16.

Level Up Event Set For August 23

The Level Up event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23, at Vagabond Art Gallery, 2010 E. 11th St. in Tulsa. This marks the gallery’s first major public event and promises to be more than just an art show.

The space will be transformed into a video game-themed celebration featuring local vendors, arcade-style experiences, food, music and a gallery full of creative interpretations of gaming culture.

Building Community Through Creativity

According to Brame, events like Level Up help eliminate the perceived divide between fine art and pop culture by creating an inclusive space for diverse creative voices.

Vagabond aims to foster connection and community through shared artistic expression, giving Tulsa’s art scene a fresh, welcoming energy.

Vendor Space Still Available

Applications are still open for geek and nerd-themed vendors. Booth space is free but limited. Interested vendors or artists can email vagabondtulsa@gmail.com to apply.
