Tulsa Community College is bringing the misadventures of Greg Heffley to life in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical, a fast-paced stage adaptation of the bestselling book series by Jeff Kinney.
The production will run from July 24 through July 27 at the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education (PACE) on TCC’s Southeast Campus.
13-year-old actor Riley Martin will star as Greg Heffley, the middle schooler with big dreams of popularity and an uncanny ability to land in embarrassing situations. The story follows Greg’s attempts to climb the social ladder while navigating bullies, awkward family moments, and the infamous "Cheese Touch."
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical features a pop-rock score by Michael Mahler and Alan Schmuckler, with a book by Kevin Del Aguila. The show captures the humor and heart of Kinney’s original series, blending slapstick comedy with relatable themes of friendship, self-discovery, and growing up.
The production is directed by Mark Frank, TCC’s Coordinator and Director of Theatre and Associate Professor. Designed to entertain audiences of all ages, the musical brings the cartoon world of Greg’s diary to the stage with dynamic choreography and playful visuals.
The musical will have four performances at the VanTrease PACE Mainstage:
