Founded in 1988, the Tulsa Herb Society is dedicated to educating and inspiring the public about herbs, plants and gardening. The nonprofit supports local horticulture-related organizations, including the Tulsa Garden Center, New Leaf and the Teaching Garden at Woodward Park.

Members meet on the second Tuesday of every month at the Tulsa Garden Center. The gathering begins with a 9:30 a.m. social time, followed by a meeting at 10 a.m. and a monthly presentation at 11 a.m.

Throughout Tuesdays of the month, members also work on handmade crafts, jams and jellies in preparation for the group’s signature December event, Carols and Crumpets.

Building Community Through Gardening

Beyond education, the society values the friendships and connections formed among its members. In addition to regular meetings, the group takes occasional trips to visit regional gardens and garden centers.
