Flooding closes both directions of Highway 20 near Skiatook

Rising waters have forced authorities to close Highway 20 and surrounding roads in Skiatook.

Rising water levels have forced the closure of both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 20 near Skiatook, according to the Skiatook Police Department.

11 AM UPDATE:

Skiatook Police said rising waters have closed the following roads:

  1. 176th St N between Peoria and Hwy 11
  2. 136th St N at Hwy 11
  3. Highway 20 from Hwy 11 to Highway 75

"Water is anticipated to crest in Avant around 1300 hours (1:00 PM). Based on this, cresting in the Skiatook area is not expected until approximately 2200 hours (10:00 PM) tonight," Skiatook Police said.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
