Strong storms that swept through eastern Oklahoma overnight left behind downed trees and minor damage to several homes in Tahlequah.
On the north side of town, near the intersection of Highway 51 and Highway 82, fallen trees were reported in multiple yards.
In one case, a tree came down across power lines, prompting a response from Lake Region Electric Cooperative. Crews worked to remove the trees to prevent service interruptions. Despite the debris, most homes in the area appeared to retain power Wednesday morning.
One home on the street sustained roof damage after a large tree fell on the back side of the house. No injuries were reported.
Residents noted the storm moved in quickly and with strong winds.
Additional reports of damage are expected as crews continue to assess the area.
