Even though the Thunder didn't come out on top for Game 1, the team's playoff run is leaving a permanent mark on some people. A local tattoo shop gave away free Thunder tattoos to fans.

Thursday night’s tough loss is not wavering the confidence of these fans. Royal Ink Tattoo gave customers the option to choose between a couple of different logos, and it was even a first for some.

It might not be the typical way to spend the day after a playoff loss, but inside Royal Ink Tattoos in Tulsa, fans were walking away with Thunder pride, etched in ink.

"I came with my friend to get a tattoo, and they said, ‘Hey, do you want a free Thunder tattoo?’ I said yeah," Sydney Cavin said.

She didn't expect to leave with a free Thunder tattoo, but her reasoning to go through with it is simple:

"You only live once."

But the team's success and her own love for the team also made the decision easy.

"Yeah, I watched them since I was little, too, but my parents are really big basketball fans, so I am too," said Cavin.

While fans filled the chairs, Stony McKay kept the needle steady. He's not just the artist; he's a Thunder fan too.

"My parents used to take me out to games and everything when they first came to OKC, so I have gotten to meet the OG squad like Westbrook, Durant, those kinds of guys," he said. "I wouldn't say I am the world’s biggest fan, but I am definitely a fan."

And for some fans, like Tyler Werner, it was more than just a tribute.

"This is my first one," he said.

Werner went all in, getting the team’s logo tattooed across his chest.

"No better way to show it than get the tattoo," he said.

It’s not about the score- it’s about showing your team spirit in a way that lasts long after the season ends.
