Former LSU All-American Pitcher Sydney Berzon commits to OU

Former LSU pitcher Sydney Berzon joins OU Sooners softball team, looking to fill major gaps in the offseason. Boomer indeed!

TULSA, Okla. -

The OU Sooners softball team landed a commitment Friday evening from former LSU pitcher Sydney Berzon.

Berzon took to Instagram, saying in a post, "Norman here I come! I am beyond grateful and excited for this opportunity! Boomer!!!"

This is the Sooners' first addition in the transfer portal since their season ended Monday in the Women's College World Series semifinals.

Berzon earned NFCA Second Team All-American honors in 2024 and NFCA Third Team All-American honors in 2023, and she will have one year of eligibility remaining for the Sooners.

OU has a few holes to fill with four hitting the portal after the season ended and three moving on to the majors. They also have five incoming freshmen, all ranked in the top 13.

The addition of Berzon will fill a huge hole, losing senior star pitcher Sam Landry.

This is just the start of some big commits that Patty Gasso and her staff will get this offseason.
