Man Killed in Overnight Crash on I-44 Near Catoosa

A man is dead and another person was injured following a crash involving three vehicles early Saturday morning on Interstate 44.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 2 a.m. near 165th East Avenue within the Catoosa city limits.

Troopers said 41-year-old Zarmen Shinwari died in the crash.

A woman in one of the other vehicles was taken to the hospital but has since been released, according to troopers.

Little is known about the third vehicle involved. Authorities have not released any details about that driver or the circumstances that led up to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
