Checotah murder-suicide: Investigators determine who pulled the trigger

New details now on the murder-suicide in Checotah, including who investigators say pulled the trigger.

Checotah, Okla. -

Investigators said Thursday that evidence shows that Todd Patterson killed former DHS employee Rachel Stewart, then killed himself earlier this week in Checotah.

Medical Examiner’s Initial Findings

The State Medical Examiner also released new information about the shooting. The ME’s initial report said Stewart was shot once and that Patterson appeared to have a self-inflicted wound.

Investigators on the case also released information about the gun used in the shooting. They said Thursday it was found in the street near Patterson’s leg,
