Angel Studios is releasing The Last Rodeo, an American drama feature, in theaters nationwide on Memorial Day weekend.

The film follows the emotional journey of a retired rodeo champion who reenters the dangerous world of bull-riding to save his grandson.

As the oldest competitor in the high-stakes event, he must confront past regrets and heal a strained relationship with his estranged daughter, proving that courage can redefine a legacy.

Production Details

Filming for The Last Rodeo took place in Oklahoma during March and April 2024.

The production was shot all across the Tulsa area, including Owasso, Collinsville, Skiatook and Okmulgee, showcasing rural landscapes and authentic rodeo settings that enrich the film’s storytelling. The Tulsa Expo Square was where the actual bull-riding scenes were filmed.

Creative Team

The film is directed and written by Jon Avnet, with Kip Konwiser serving as producer. Their collaboration brings a grounded, emotionally resonant tale to the screen, highlighting themes of redemption, family, and perseverance.

Release Information

The Last Rodeo is rated PG for thematic elements, language, and violence. It will be released in theaters across the U.S. on Friday, May 23.
