A Eufaula teen is relieved after Muskogee Police arrested two people who they say are connected to her brother's murder.
Investigators say 21-year-old Ashton Wright died after being found in the street with a gunshot wound.
Ashton's sister says while she's glad to have some answers about his death, there's still a lot they don't know.
It's been seven weeks since Muskogee Police say Ashton Wright was dropped off and left on South L Street and Frankfort, bleeding and badly hurt from a gunshot wound.
Someone found Ashton, and he was hospitalized, but didn't make it.
"I just can't imagine how scared he was, like, knowing that, like, he has a son at home," said Markaya Breshears, Ashton's sister.
Muskogee Police say Terrance Tunley, 20, and Kyren Boulware,19, were arrested and charged this week for murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
"He thought that they were his friends. And like, knowing he has a baby at home, and like knowing he has a family, like, it's very sickening," said Breshears.
Ashton's family celebrated Easter, birthdays, and graduations this spring without him.
"It's just really hard to celebrate things and to be happy during things, or happy during big accomplishments, because you're just constantly thinking about him, and not even him, but the incident and how it happened," said Breshears.
Markaya was heartbroken over his death. She says it was especially painful not knowing who was responsible for weeks.
"Like I felt like every day was awful. We just waited and waited and waited for something to happen," said Breshears.
Markaya says she wants to be at every court hearing to show support for her brother, and she hopes everyone who cares about Ashton will be there too.
"It shows us how much everybody has loved him and still loves him and how much we're not going to stop no matter what, even though they are arrested, this is not the end for us. We're not going to stop posting or stop talking or stop advocating for him," said Breshears.
Muskogee Police say the case is still active, and if anyone has more information, to call their investigation unit at 918-680-3125 or, to stay anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 918-682-2677.
