Tulsa Softball season ends in second round of American Championship

Tulsa's softball season came to an end in the second round of the American Championship in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday.

For the first game of the day, the Golden Hurricane (21-33) defeated UTSA 1-0. Left fielder Whitney Holcomb came up clutch for TU with a diving catch in the top of the seventh while UTSA had runners on first and second.

TU advanced to face Wichita State in the second round and started hot with a 2-0 lead, but Wichita State scored five in a row to win 5-2 and advance to the quarterfinals.
