OU Softball earns No. 1 seed in SEC Tournament

OU earned a double-bye, and will play either LSU or Mississippi State on Thursday at 10 am.

NORMAN, Okla. -

Despite dropping 2 out of 3 games over the weekend at Florida, the OU softball team claimed their 1st SEC title in their first year of being in the conference. Thanks to that regular season title, Patty Gasso and the Sooners earned a double bye in this week's SEC Softball Tournament, and the No. 1 seed.

The top-seeded Sooners will play either 8-seed Mississippi State or 9-seed LSU on Thursday at 10 am Oklahoma time.

The tournament is set to start on Tuesday in Athens, GA. The championship game is set for 5 pm Oklahoma time on Saturday, May 10th.
