Some animals at the Tulsa Zoo are getting a change of scenery as part of the zoo’s seasonal rotation to support their well-being.

New Spot for ‘Palawan’ the Binturong

The zoo’s binturong, named Palawan, is now enjoying the outdoors in the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation exhibit. Zookeepers say the move gives Palawan a chance to experience fresh air and warmer temperatures as the seasons shift.

Red Pandas Move Indoors

Meanwhile, the zoo’s two red pandas — Addison and Mei Mei — have been moved inside to the conservation center to stay cool as temperatures rise. Officials say the indoor space helps keep the red pandas comfortable and healthy during warmer months.

Why the Switch?

Zookeepers explain that the seasonal rotation allows each species to thrive by adapting their habitats to the weather. The two animals essentially swapped places to ensure they have the best possible environment.

“This seasonal rotation helps us provide the best environment for both species,” zoo staff said.

What’s Next at the Zoo

Visitors can see Palawan in the outdoor exhibit, while Addison and Mei Mei remain visible inside the conservation center.
