Tulsa Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Program, ‘Color Our World,’ offers prizes for all ages

The Tulsa City-County Library is inviting readers of all ages to join its 2025 Summer Reading Program, “Color Our World.”

From free entertainment to major prize giveaways, the two-month event is one of the city’s most popular family traditions and works to promote reading as a fun activity. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect.

Free to Join and Open to Everyone

The program kicks off Monday, June 2, and runs through July 31. Participants can register in person at any library or Bookmobile location or online through the TCCL SRP app. There are four age-based categories: Littles, Children, Teens and Tweens, and Adults.

What You Need to Read to Win

Each age group has different goals and rewards:

1. Littles (birth–pre-K) and Children (K–5th) will receive a commemorative medal and coupon book for free entertainment and food items for reading eight books. Additionally, "Littles" who read 20 books in total will earn an animal plushie and "Children" will earn an inflatable buddy bookworm.
2. Teens & Tweens (completed 5th grade+) who read 6 books will get an axolotl squish, a coupon booklet and be entered to win prizes like an iPad or Nintendo Switch.
3. Adults (ages 16 and up) who read 4 books will earn a ceramic mug and a coupon book, with a chance to win a Discovery Lab membership or gift card.

Live Performances to Add to the Fun

Throughout June and July, library locations will host live shows featuring storytellers, artists and performers. These free events are educational and entertaining, aimed at making reading fun and engaging.
