The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a drowning at Lake Eufaula after a man jumped from a boat and struggled to swim before disappearing beneath the water's surface Friday.
Investigators said 20-year-old Jared Enriquez was boating with three other people when the incident happened.
Dive teams recovered Enriquez's body on Saturday, bringing an end to the search.
Troopers said a witness reported Enriquez jumped off the boat voluntarily but struggled to swim and went underwater and did not resurface.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division launched search efforts and divers located the man’s body about 11 feet below the surface on Saturday.
Investigators confirmed Enriquez was one of four people aboard the boat at the time of the incident.
Authorities are reminding the public to wear life jackets when boating or swimming in lakes.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s investigation remains ongoing. Officials said they will release more information as it becomes available.
