What began as a creative outlet for Lori Lenhart has transformed into a mission to help others, one coat of paint at a time.
A Home Fully Painted, and a New Purpose Found
Lori first picked up a brush to refresh her own home.
"I have probably painted every room in my house three times, and all of my woodwork twice, my kitchen cabinets once. I have run out of things to paint in my house,” Lenhart said.
With her own walls and even her two daughters’ homes completely redone, Lenhart started refurbishing vintage furniture.
A Hobby That Blesses Others
Since last August, Lenhart has donated one to two pieces of furniture a month. She pays for everything herself and never charges a dime.
"It's kind of a hobby, but it’s even better than that because my hobby has turned into a thing that's able to bless others,” Lenhart said.
Preparing for the Future, One Brushstroke at a Time
As retirement approaches, Lenhart isn’t slowing down. Instead, she’s stockpiling pieces to get them ready for the next family in need. She even tailors each piece to the recipient’s style.
"I send them pictures of my paint samples for them to pick out for their home and match their styles so it's a piece they love and feel comfortable with,” Lenhart said.
