Wooden dolls are on display at businesses and organizations across northeast Oklahoma.
CASA's paper doll project is a way to bring awareness to the important work they do to help children.
Every year, Mark Ogle delivers dolls.
"You want a doll, I will get you a doll," he said.
These dolls aren’t just decorations—they are part of the Paper Doll Project. They represent real children in foster care who Ogle helps through CASA of Northeast Oklahoma.
"These children did not choose to be in this situation, so anything we can do to help them find that permanent home, and that's the goal," he said.
The goal of the project is to raise awareness about the reality of child abuse in local communities and to raise funds to support CASA."
Companies like the Pediatric Practitioners of Oklahoma will decorate the dolls and display them to help raise money and collect new or gently used clothing.
"A lot of these children have never received a new piece of clothing, one with a tag," said Ogle.
Patricia Farmer with Pediatric Practitioners of Oklahoma has supported the cause for four years.
"We have so many foster kids who are on our patient roster," she said. "We see a lot of foster parents and foster kids, and CASA provides an advocate for those kids in a time of such need. It is a really good service for those kids."
So far, more than 150 dolls have been sponsored. Ogle hopes that support will continue, so they can help as many children as possible.
"They don't need to be in limbo," he said. "They need a permanent loving, nurturing home."
It's not too late if you'd like to help. To sponsor a doll, contact Mark Ogle at (918) 923-7276
