Tulsa Police are looking for the man who attacked a woman and raped her on the trails at Turkey Mountain Monday night.

This is the second random attack at the park in less than a month. The first one was when police say a man stabbed a woman in the face several times at the end of July.

Police say the attack is random:

Tulsa Police say a woman called 911 in a panic around 10 p.m. Monday, saying she'd been raped. Police the victim was out at the park to look at the downtown skyline when she says a man attacked her, ripped her clothes off and raped her.

"She fought, she threw rocks, then she ran out leaving some clothing behind. We were able to go recover that. She ran and the suspect ran a different direction," said Captain Richard Meulenberg with Tulsa Police.

Police are looking for surveillance video and hoping DNA evidence will give them some answers, but right now they don't have any good leads.

"We hate to know there's a sexual predator out there, it could be anybody right now. All we know right now is a larger male, six foot to six foot three," said Meulenberg.

Second random attack in a month at Turkey Mountain:

Tulsa Police arrested Jesse Brown last month after they say he attacked a woman who was hiking on a Turkey Mountain trail and stabbed her several times in the face.

Police say random attacks are very rare, and it's understandable for people to be scared.

"You figure between these two incidents and well before the last one, thousands of people have been there without any problems but that's not going to dissuade how people feel about it," said Meulenberg.

Park goers on high alert:

Melissa Armstrong spent part of the day Tuesday riding her bike at Turkey Mountain, something she does several times a week, but she doesn't ride alone anymore after a second random attack at the park.

"It's scary. It scares me to even want to come out here alone, something that I used to do," said Armstrong.

Armstrong says she doesn't feel as safe anymore, but she always has her phone, and if something doesn't feel right, she turns around.

"I still want to come out here, I still want to enjoy what Tulsa has to offer but now I have to do it with a partner," said Armstrong.

Police are looking for information:

Anyone who was at the park Monday night and saw something suspicious, or anyone who has video, should call police. Police say in an investigation like this, the smallest piece of information can break open a case.

Police increasing patrols around Turkey Mountain:

Police say they will have more officers patrolling around Turkey Mountain, and will be using the helicopter, drones and other tools to keep people safe.

They remind people to not wear headphones when they jog or walk and at the very least, carry something that makes noise, like a whistle.
