Some Green Country kids headed back to school with fresh haircuts thanks to Tulsa Tech's Barber Bash.
The yearly free event invited students to get a new look just in time for class, as dozens of barbers donated their time to the back to school occasion.
Tulsa Tech Master Barber Instructor Chuck Jones explained why important that kids feel and look their best before heading back to school every year.
"When they get ready to go back to school, that really helps children because now they have the confidence they need to pay attention in class," Jones said. "They have the confidence they need to smile, to be joyous, and that kind of helps a kid get their grades and keep their grades up."
Along with the haircuts, Tulsa Tech also provided kids with school supplies and connections to resources they may need during the school year like counseling and mentoring organizations.
