Search continues for missing Okmulgee County woman with dementia

Crews in Okmulgee County are continuing to search for 71-year-old Patti Matthews, who has been missing for nearly a week.

Search crews in Okmulgee County are continuing efforts to find a woman reported missing nearly a week ago.

Authorities say 71-year-old Patretia Matthews, who has dementia, was last seen after her car was found abandoned in rural Okmulgee County last Sunday. A Silver Alert has been in effect since then.

Emergency management officials said crews resumed the search Saturday morning around 8 a.m. with additional resources, including search dogs and a boat to scan the Deep Fork River. The search was wrapped up around noon due to the extreme heat.

Officials say search efforts to find Matthews will continue. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Okmulgee County Sheriff's office at (918) 756-4311.
