Restore Hope Ministries is ensuring Tulsa-area students have what they need to head back to class this fall. The nonprofit is hosting its annual school supplies giveaway this week, aiming to support more than 1,400 students.
Project School Supplies began more than 35 years ago with a single $300 donation from someone who remembered what it was like to start the school year without basic materials. Today, the program serves hundreds of students, equipping them with essential items to begin the year ready to learn.
Since its start, Project School Supplies has been a way for the community to come together to make sure every student walks into class confident and prepared. Restore Hope leaders say the program’s growth over the decades reflects both the ongoing need and the generosity of local donors.
Families must bring a photo ID for a parent or guardian, proof of birthdate for school-aged children, and the name of the school the child will attend this year to receive assistance.
