Former Bixby standout Braylin Presley is entering his senior year with the Golden Hurricane and in a new position this season and getting ready to soak it all in under new head coach Tre Lamb.

Q: What's it like being the most famous person on campus since being named in the top 100 Freak's list?

A: It's like being the most famous person in Canada since you've been named in the top 100 freak list. And do you get, like, some sort of plaque or medal at that? Like, it's pretty prestigious. I would not consider myself a famous person. The freak list was kind of cool. I didn't know I was nominated for it, so I guess that's something I do every year, which I didn't know, but, Coach Joey, our a strength coach nominated me for it, and I put my numbers in. I just come in from practice one day, and my phone's buzzing like, what is going on? I look on it. I just saw the freak's list. What the heck is this? And then I go, I go to coach like What is this? He's like. He's like, oh, yeah, it's cool, isn't it? And he told me what it was. Apparently they do it every year. But no, that was pretty cool.

Q: How has Coach G changed the game a little bit for you guys?

A: Him and his staff have actually changed the game a lot. Just from the speed training that we do, the strength training. Everything is meticulously planned and he told us that like on our conditioning days. This has been this has been hands down, the hardest conditioning summer I've ever had. But he kind of laid it out for us and told us why we do what we do. So it's not just he's not one of those strength coaches. It's like, just do what I say and just do it. Like, he has science to back up everything that he does. So he's done a really good job this year just getting everyone in shape and ready for the football season.

Q: So how has this offseason been for you personally and the transition of a running back spot where I think everyone's gotten more familiar, at least for me, watching you play. So how how was the offseason into this transition?

A: The offseason for me has been pretty good. Like I said, just working out because Jose and the staff and we have a great nutritionist. So just learning. Even in year four, still learning, what to eat, what not to eat, how to train, how hard to train, when not to train. Just as far as going back to running back. You know, it's something I'm familiar with, it's something I've done my whole life. So just seeing college football from a different lens rather than being a receiver has been cool, but has been something that I'm excited for.

Q: Do you feel more comfortable?

A: Yeah. Like I said, it's just something that I've been playing my whole life. So you kind of get a feel of how things are going to be like, how things are going to hit, how the line shifts, when linebackers are going too slow, just kind of get a feel for those things in the sense of that still blows me away.

Q: Year Four. Time flies. Where has time gone?

A: It's been a long but a memorable four years. And you know, you hear a lot of people say college is the best for using your life. And you always think, you know, you look back at your past and you think maybe it's high school or maybe you see this, but I think I see what I said, you know, time flies, but college is where you meet a lot of your lifelong friends. You make a lot of relationships. So, bittersweet. Not really ready for it to be over, but soaking in every moment while I can.

Q: What's the fuel, excitement and the juice if you want to call it that, for the start of the season, the kind Coach Lamb brought in terms of an energy level, what's it like?

A: It's awesome. It's awesome. Coach lamb and the whole staff have brought an energy that has been around here that I haven't felt, honestly, probably since high school, just to focus, the focus that they bring when they hear, the little details, that's, that's one thing that coach learning really focuses on. And he tells us little things like that or what's going to help us win. And it always brought me back to thinking, you know, being in high school Coach Montgomery and that staff, those are the same things that we focus on. And I think that's why they were successful and I think that's why we're gonna be successful.

Q: What was it like to see your brother score a touchdown in the preseason game?

A: So I was, I was at home. I watched my mom, my dad, my grandma, Braden, and my other sister and we're all sitting there, and we watched the whole second half. And, you know, he he did everything great. He blocked really well. He had a reverse and he ran for like 12 yards. And they get down to the red zone and I'm kind of looking at the formations and they're in the same formation. I was like, like, something needs coming here. And sure enough, I see him out and like when I tell you that place, when that place erupted and then, Coach Snyder and all of them, they started text me like, it's awesome. And I was like, I feel like I scored. I was shaking, I was like, this is awesome.
