Twisted Arts announced the return of its “Gayest Dog in Tulsa Pageant” after last year’s event sold out. This year’s pageant will be held on Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will raise money for Pause4Paws, a Tulsa nonprofit that fosters pets for people facing homelessness, mental illness or addiction who need inpatient treatment but have no caretakers for their animals.

The event will be held at the warehouse complex WOMPA, previously noted for hosting the recent All-American Rejects surprise Tulsa show.

Twisted Arts is a Tulsa-based nonprofit that says its goal is to uplift the LGBTQ+ and Oklahoma communities through independent film, music, performance and mixed media. The group also hosts charity events.
Twisted Arts announced that only the contestants’ dogs will be allowed.
“As much as we love all dogs,” the group said, “we would like this year to focus on the contestants.”
