Twisted Arts hosts dog pagent to raise funds for Tulsa homeless nonprofit

Twisted Arts is bringing back the "Gayest Dog in Tulsa Pageant" on Aug. 9 to raise money for Pause4Paws, featuring six canine contestants.

Twisted Arts announced the return of its “Gayest Dog in Tulsa Pageant” after last year’s event sold out. This year’s pageant will be held on Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will raise money for Pause4Paws, a Tulsa nonprofit that fosters pets for people facing homelessness, mental illness or addiction who need inpatient treatment but have no caretakers for their animals.

Who Are the Contestants in the “Gayest Dog in Tulsa Pageant”?

🐩 The six furry friend competitors are:

  1. BJ, a purebred diva.
  2. Kieko, an Alaskan Klee Kai–Pomeranian mix.
  3. Felix, aka Fefe, is a former scrappy street pup.
  4. Moose, a big and bold tower of a dog.
  5. Parker Compton, a 3-year-old blue heeler mix and certified good boy.
  6. Uncle Kevin, third runner-up in Tulsa’s 2024 Gayest Dog Pageant.

Each of these dogs will compete in the following categories:

  1. Best Dressed
  2. Most Talented
  3. Best in Show

Where is the “Gayest Dog in Tulsa Pageant”?

The event will be held at the warehouse complex WOMPA, previously noted for hosting the recent All-American Rejects surprise Tulsa show.

Twisted Arts announced that only the contestants’ dogs will be allowed.

“As much as we love all dogs,” the group said, “we would like this year to focus on the contestants.”
