Scotfest, Oklahoma’s annual celebration of Scottish culture, will not take place in 2025, organizers announced this week.
Event leadership said the postponement decision came after extensive discussions with board members, volunteers, and the City of Broken Arrow.
The festival is now expected to return in 2026 at the Broken Arrow Events Park.
“Our commitment has always been to create a successful and entertaining event for everyone,” the Scotfest team said in a statement. “The decision was made that it was better to postpone and come back bigger and better in 2026.”
Organizers cited several challenges, including the theft of a trailer on Christmas Day 2024 that contained an estimated $70,000 worth of essential equipment. They said that other overlapping events would further strain parking and logistics in the area.
Broken Arrow officials confirmed the news, saying that it supports the decision made by the Scotfest team and looks forward to the festival's return in 2026.
“The City of Broken Arrow understands and supports the difficult decision Scotfest board members made to postpone this year’s event," said Broken Arrow City Manager Michael Spurgeon. "We applaud the commitment of their time, effort, and resources to reimagine this tradition-rich festival when it returns to Broken Arrow’s Events Park in 2026. We look forward to working with our partners during this process and are excited to celebrate the new and improved Scotfest with Broken Arrow residents and visitors next year.”
