Watch: Oklahoma dog goes viral for opening door with no training

A Ring camera caught a surprising and amusing moment when a young dog named Hazel opened the front door of her home—without any help.

Hazel, a German Shepherd-Boxer mix under a year old, belongs to homeowner and Ring customer Patrick. He said the pup has recently figured out how to open the screen door on her own.

“We couldn’t believe it—our dog Hazel let herself out through the screen door!” Patrick said. “She’s been opening doors on her own for about three weeks now, and we didn’t teach her a thing.”

Patrick first realized what was happening after getting a Ring notification. When he checked the footage, Hazel was caught in the act.

“Turns out, I’ve got a very clever pup and now need to start locking the doors,” he said. “We shared the clip because it gave us (and our friends) a good laugh!”

The video has since drawn attention online for Hazel’s unexpected independence and undeniable charm.
