Tulsa National Little League Softball is headed to the Southwest Region Championship game after defeating Texas East (Hallettsville) 6-2 on Thursday afternoon in Waco, Texas, marking their third consecutive must-win victory in the elimination bracket. Harmoneigh White delivered one more time in the circle for Tulsa, shutting down the East Texas lineup for most of the game.
Backed by standout pitching and timely hitting, Tulsa continued its impressive run just one day after a 5-2 win over Midway Little League (Texas West), where Harmoneigh White delivered a dominant performance in the circle by allowing only four hits and retiring 16 of the final 17 batters she faced.
Oklahoma opened the tournament with a 6-3 loss to undefeated Sterlington, Louisiana—whom they’ll now face again in Friday’s 2:30 p.m. championship game. Despite being the youngest team in the field and carrying one of the smallest rosters, Tulsa has shown resilience and heart with wins over Carlsbad (NM), Midway (TXW), and Hallettsville (TXE) to keep their title hopes alive.
The winner of Friday's game will advance to the main bracket of the LLWS and play on August 4th.
