The American Conference has released its 2025-26 men’s basketball pairings, with league play set to begin on Dec. 30, 2025, and run through March 8, 2026.

The American Championship will follow at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

Tulsa will face 12 conference opponents during the upcoming season, including six home-and-home series. The Golden Hurricane will take on South Florida, UAB, Wichita State, North Texas, Charlotte, and Rice both at home and on the road.

At the Donald W. Reynolds Center, Tulsa will host Memphis, Temple, and UTSA. The Golden Hurricane swept UTSA last season and split with Temple, while last year’s matchup with Memphis came on the road. The Tigers, led by eighth-year head coach Penny Hardaway, have reached the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four years.

TU’s road-only opponents include Tulane, Florida Atlantic, and East Carolina.

Head coach Eric Konkol enters his fourth season leading the Golden Hurricane after reaching the AAC quarterfinals in last year’s conference tournament. This year’s roster will feature 11 newcomers, including eight transfers, one junior college addition, and two freshmen. Analytics site EvanMiya.com ranks Tulsa’s transfer class as the second-best in the American.

Returners include Ian Smikle, who started 28 games last season and earned All-Freshman Team honors while ranking third in program history for freshman rebounds (183).
