The summer and offseason are all about building long-lasting relationships and bonds for the upcoming season.

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls are doing just that.

Cowgirls Tyla and Stailee Heard take part in powwows when they aren't busy being Division I basketball players, and they met their family in Stroud earlier this month to celebrate and decided to invite their entire team to join them. And almost every player showed up.

"It was pretty cool. I mean, it was awesome. You know, my mom, she mentions you bringing them out to the powwow, and, you know, it's it's one thing to tell them about our culture, but it's so much easier having them and showing them. Explain to them, like, what we're talking about and showing them what it's like and then getting to experience that," said Stailee.
"I feel like they all loved it. Yeah, it was really special. And they really immerse themselves into the dancing and the singing and everything, and it was just really awesome to see," added Tyla.
