The Continued Search

The search for a missing woman with dementia, 71-year-old Patty Matthews, is in its fifth day. Searchers are looking for Matthews after finding her abandoned car in rural Okmulgee County. Authorities say she drove off from Bristow on Friday. A Silver Alert was issued on Sunday.

"I was initially concerned right off the bat, but when they found her car unoccupied, the concern grew," said Matthews' granddaughter, Natasha Logan.

Desperate for Answers

Matthews' family is very worried, and says that as each hour passes, they get more worried. They say not knowing where she may be is the hardest part.

"I will not lose hope, but the longer it goes, the more concerned I’m going to get," said Matthews' son Tony Trout.

A Family's Plea

Still waiting for answers five days later, the family says they are at the point where any and everything helps. They encourage anyone with a tip, no matter how small, to report it to the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office. The family plans to conduct their own search in Okmulgee County soon.

"We’re hoping for a good outcome, we’re hoping for a miracle, but either direction, we need some closure," said Logan.
